About NAMI Cecil County
A new NAMI affiliate, rooted in Cecil County
NAMI began in 1979 with a small group of families gathered around a kitchen table. Today it is a nationwide network of state organizations and local affiliates, and NAMI Cecil County is the newest part of that network in Maryland.
We are neighbors, family members and people with lived experience who want everyone in Cecil County affected by mental illness to find support, education and hope close to home.
Meet our Steering CommitteeHow we’re organized
- A Model B affiliate of NAMI Maryland. We operate under NAMI Maryland’s governance, policies and financial oversight.
- Led by a volunteer Steering Committee. We don’t have a board of directors; our committee plans programs and outreach.
- Not a separately incorporated nonprofit. That lets our volunteers focus on what matters most: support, education and advocacy.
